NEC at the TEN-T days in Ljubljana
From 25 to 27 April the European Commission’s Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T) initiative held its biennial TEN-T days in Slovenia’s capital, Ljubljana. This year’s TEN-T Days’ indoor and outdoor exhibition showcased innovative projects and ideas that contribute to European transport infrastructure development, where around 100 exhibitors showed innovative transport solutions.
New Energy Coalition took part in both the indoor and outdoor exhibition, where it presented its TSO2020 project to exploit synergies between power storage solutions and alternative transport infrastructure in the North of the Netherlands. The projects foresees existing gas storage facilities and the national gas pipeline network (power to gas) to be unlocked to absorb green hydrogen, while local businesses will provide hydrogen distribution via road transport in the Netherlands and the western part of Germany. At the outdoor exhibition Dutch public transport provider Qbuzz showcased one of its hydrogen buses, which drew a lot of attention and has been visited by the Dutch Minister of Infrastructure and Water Management, Cora van Nieuwenhuizen.
Then TEN-T policy is directed towards the implementation and development of a Europe-wide network of roads, railway lines, inland waterways, maritime shipping routes, ports, airports and rail-road terminals. The activities combine studies, two pilot activities and a business plan for the scale up of grid management solutions.
