New Energy Regatta 23 & 24 September
On Friday 24 September, a hydrogen racing boat will compete for the first time during the Solar Races in Groningen. This annual race in the Groningen canals has been renamed the ‘New Energy Regatta’! An inspiring way to link technical innovations in energy to education, practice and sport.
Pre-racing day
Prior to the race, there will be a pre-race meeting with boat inspections and other events on Thursday 23 September at EnTranCe | Zernike Groningen. Entry upon registration only, via the buttons below.
Programme 23 September
10.00 – 14.00 hrs |Inspection of participating boats by the teams & race entourage – boats will be set up for inspection
13.00 – 14.00 hrs. | Energy Lecture by New Energy Academy: Hydrogen – From Sea to School (online only).
15.00 – 16.30 hrs | B2B event: Round table discussion – energy transition in business and education led by former Olympic competitor Marcelien Bos – de Koning (on location EnTranCe, full=full, and online)

Racing Day
The race in Groningen’s canal Verbindingskanaal (front Groninger Museum) can be followed by the public all day via livestream (due to Covid-19 limitations no public arena).

De New Energy Regatta is initiated by Solar Sport One and Gemeente Groningen in cooperation with New Energy Coalition.
