Opening hydrogen filling station Green Planet Pesse

During the TSO2020 Final Event on October 6th, all those involved in the European project gathered at Green Planet in Pesse (Dutch province of Drenthe). During the event the special hydrogen filling station for cars  was officially put into use.

In the TSO2020 projecthas a consortium of partners such as the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management (I&W), New Energy Coalition, EASE, Gasunie, TU Delft, TenneT and Green Planet joined forces in the field of hydrogen. Together, various studies and (pilot) activities are being carried out and a hydrogen economy is being rolled out in Noord-Nederland.

TSO2020 results

TSO2020 thus forms the foundation for many hydrogen initiatives in the Netherlands. For example, in 2019, King Willem-Alexander opened Gasunie's green hydrogen plant (Hystock) in Veendam. During the Final Event, these and other successes were commemorated in various ways. The closing debate on October 6th focused on the results achieved by the TSO2020 partners. There was also a look ahead, as how do we scale up hydrogen?

During the debate, several leading figures from the hydrogen world spoke. Fleur Gräper-van Koolwijk, Member of the Provincial Executive of Groningen, praised the collaboration between the provinces of Drenthe and Groningen in the field of hydrogen. Dirk Schaap (Hydrogen Coordinator at the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management) and Patrick Cnubben (New Energy Coalition, the founder of TSO2020 and HEAVENN) are reflecting on a successful project. And as Cnubben previewed: "We have to scale up and speed up." If we really want to make progress in the field of hydrogen, we have to do it together.
