Saltes wins Entrance Professional Award 2025

During the New Energy Forum 2025, the Entrance Professional Award was presented to the Brabant-based company Saltes. The award recognizes their promising invention of a heat battery based on molten salt, a technology that enables sustainable heat storage on an industrial scale. 

Winners Entrance Professional Award 2025

Saltes will receive a total amount of €100.000, of which €25.000 in cash and €75.000 in support from the Entrance network in Groningen.

Besides Saltes, other promising energy innovations were also awarded: Verdant Biogas won second prize (€10.000) for their compact biodigester, designed for small-scale farmers in developing countries. And BrewRight took third prize (€5.000) for their carbon capture system for small breweries.

Entrance Student Award 2025

Young talent was also rewarded: the 2025 Entrance Student Award went to Lars van der Schuur, Joren Benes, Farshad Saderi, and Daan Vedder, vocational students at Alfa-college Groningen. As part of the project, they developedWaterstof Werkt: H2 Train and Learn HubThe Power Unit, a mobile demonstration installation that demonstrates how hydrogen works as a green fuel. The award includes a €3.000 cash prize.
