Goal
The Offshore Wind Innovation Centre (OWIC) strengthens Eemshaven as a service hub for offshore wind by stimulating innovation, training, and collaboration between businesses, education, and government.
Description
OWIC contributes to accelerating the energy transition by positioning Eemshaven as a knowledge and service hub for offshore wind. It facilitates collaboration, training, innovation, and infrastructure development focused on sustainable offshore energy.
Our role
New Energy Coalition is a co-initiator and project partner of OWIC. We are responsible for communication, knowledge sharing, networking, and strengthening the project's human capital and innovation components.
Partners
The OWIC consortium consists of 7 partners and a coalition of 13 regional companies active in offshore wind, working together in the Offshore Wind Innovation Centre. In addition to New Energy Coalition, TCNN, Groningen Seaports, Hanze, the Province of Groningen, the Municipality of Het Hogeland and Noorderpoort were partners, and Lubbers Logistics Group, Virol, Delftechniek, DHSS, CIV Offshore & Shipping, Hijsspecialist.nl, STOPAQ, Hulst Innovation Cable Equipment, Rope Access Noord, Northsea Windhub, Saxion, STARK Learning and Northern Netherlands Offshore Wind (NNOW) form the business coalition.
