Northern Connections
Living Labs stimulate energy innovation and collaboration between regions around the North Sea.
Goal
With Northern Connections, we create transnational innovation links through Living Labs and an innovation toolbox, with the aim of strengthening sustainable energy collaboration between clusters and regions.
Description
Northern Connections stimulates cross-border innovation in sustainable energy sectors. Through Living Labs, SMEs from various regions are encouraged to test and internationalize their technologies and solutions. The project promotes collaboration between clusters, regions, and cities and offers a toolkit for transnational innovation support.
Our role
We served as one of the partners within the consortium of clusters and knowledge institutions. We contributed to the organization of Living Labs, sharing experience and best practices in Noord-Nederland, and strengthening network and dual-use innovation support
Partners
Northern Connections involved 21 partners, including clusters, cities, regions and knowledge institutions from Denmark, Sweden, Norway, the UK, Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany. In addition to New Energy Coalition, Business Region Göteborg, Renewable Energy Hamburg, Cleantech Flanders, OREEC, Sustainable Business Hub, Innovatum, Scottisch Enterprise, Region MIDT Jylland, North Denmark Region, Energy Cluster Denmark, Region of Southern Denmark, Falkirk Council, Aarhus Kommune, Schleswig-Holstein, Municipality of Alkmaar, Hamburg, Oslo Kommune, HafenCity Universität Hamburg and Ontwikkelingsbedrijf Noord-Holland Noord participated in this project.
