Van Gras Naar Gas
Facts
Project duration: - Budget: € 49.991 Grantor: Interreg Deutschland-Netherlands Subsidy programme: Small Projects FundDevelopment of closed material and energy cycles in agriculture.
Goal
Van Gras Naar Gas focuses on the future of sustainable agriculture and aims to map the technical possibilities and processes that allow agricultural businesses to close their material and energy cycles. The insights and outcomes of this project will form the basis for a large-scale Interreg project in the future.
Description
Farms face several complex challenges: greenhouse gas and nitrogen emissions pollute the environment, and usable nitrogen leaks into surface and groundwater, resulting in a dependency on artificial fertilizers. At the same time, bioresources are released that are still underutilized. With this project, we enable farmers to produce their own fertilizer, generate a portion of their energy sustainably, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
Our role
New Energy Coalition is the project leader and project coordinator of the project and is responsible for a large part of the Dutch research.
Partners
In addition to New Energy Coalition, Provincie Drenthe, Hanze, Oldenburger Energie Cluster, Kompetenzzentrum 3N, Thomssen Lohnbetriebe, Wirtschaftsförderung Landkreis Aurich and Boerderij Ten Kate are involved in the project.
