Goal
Training 3.400 professionals who contribute to the energy transition in Noord-Nederland, with a steady influx into technical training and strengthening of knowledge and skills in the field of sustainable energy.
Description
By training 3.400 skilled workers and strengthening technical training, Energy College contributes to reducing the shortage of qualified personnel in the energy sector. The project facilitates the transition from fossil fuels to sustainable energy sources. Noord-Nederland and supports the regional energy transition.
Our role
New Energy Coalition acts as coordinator and connector within the Energy College project. We facilitate cooperation between educational institutions, governments and companies, and contribute to the development of future-proof vocational education for the energy sector in Noord-Nederland.
Partners
In addition to New Energy Coalition, 7 schools from secondary vocational education (Drenthe College, Noorderpoort, Alfa-college, ROC Friese Poort, Friesland College, Terra MBO and Nordwin College) and one higher vocational education institute (Hanze University of Applied Sciences Groningen), 7 government agencies (the provinces of Groningen, Drenthe, Friesland and the municipalities of Groningen, Assen, Emmen and Leeuwarden) and 45 companies in Noord-Nederland participate in the project.

After this project, DCTerra (formerly Drenthe College), Alfa-College and Noorderpoort decided to continue their collaboration.
