New milestone in ENSYSTRA project
The ENSYSTRA project reached a new milestone this month with the conclusion of the Energy Economics Workshop, hosted by the University of Edinburgh, Scotland. From January 21st to 25th, the early career researchers (ESRs) within the project took the next step in their research by presenting their updated research proposals and increasing collaboration.
Energy economics workshop
During the energy economics workshop, participants delved deeper into markets, investments, and trade in the energy sector. The workshop activities focused on collaboration and communication, aiming to enable ESRs to connect their research projects and work in a more solution-oriented manner.
The week was filled with innovative lectures on topics such as the practical operation of the energy market, trade, and entrepreneurship. The ESRs visited the Pitlochry Hydropower Station and were later challenged with an energy market simulation to apply the knowledge they had acquired in practice. The ESRs returned inspired and full of new ideas for the content and quality improvement of their research.
More about ENSYSTRA and our role
ENergy SYStems in TRAnsition (ENSYSTRA) is training 15 early-career researchers (ESRs) in all aspects of energy system transition. The energy transition in the North Sea requires collaboration between the technical, social, and humanities sciences. ENSYSTRA therefore aims to train energy professionals with integrated insights to become experts at the forefront of the energy transition.
