New Energy Coalition joins ERIG
ERIG welcomes New Energy Coalition as a new member. New Energy Coalition replaces KVGN as national member of the Netherlands.
Drs. Ing. PAJP Cnubben, Team Manager Green Molecules, will New Energy Coalition represent the ERIG Board of Directors. Patrick focuses on developing projects in the field of (biogenic) energy carriers such as Green Gas, (Bio)LNG, and Hydrogen. He is also involved in HEAVENN. project.
Dr. Julio Garcia, research coordinator, will join ERIG's Scientific Advisory Board. Julio coordinates the HyDeltaproject at NEC. His expertise includes hydrogen and fuel cells, electrolysis, and PEM technologies.
“We are delighted to New Energy Coalition to welcome as a new member. The Netherlands is an important partner at EU level in the field of gas and sustainable energy. The cooperation with New Energy Coalition This was already granted based on shared interests. Inclusion in ERIC as an official member is a logical step towards further deepening collaboration.
- General Secretary at ERIG, Hans Rasmusson.
New Energy Coalition joins ERIG to deepen the connection of the Netherlands with European energy research and industry and to further expand our network. With ERIG we aim to participate in EU projects together with other leading researchers and technical and scientific associations.”

About ERIG
The European Research Institute for Gas and Energy Innovation (ERIG) is a non-profit organisation dedicated to strengthening the important role of gas as an energy source for the transition of the European energy system, in synergy with intermittent renewable energy production. Its members are national technical and scientific gas organisations and associations in Europe. They primarily represent the interests of the European energy and gas sector. ERIG currently consists of the following member associations:
- Danish Gas Technology Center (DGC)
- German Technical and Scientific Association for Gas and Water (DVGW)
- Austrian Association for Gas and Water (ÖVGW)
- Swiss Gas and Water Association (SVGW) and Association of the Swiss Natural Gas Industry (VSG)
- GASSCO (Norway)
- Slovak Gas and Oil Association (SGOA)
- New Energy Coalition
The network focuses primarily on promoting innovation and development. Through its members, ERIG is directly connected to research institutes, universities, and industry in the respective countries. Its broad research portfolio covers all aspects of the supply chain, from extraction to use of gas, and promotes European collaboration in energy research and development projects, specifically in the field of sustainable gases and related innovative technologies. Furthermore, ERIG will also support the EU's strategic research agenda on energy and gas. This includes initiating joint European research projects on the future role of gases in the energy system.
