Launched: National Energy Dashboard
Recently it was National Energy Dashboard (ned.nl) launched, an initiative of Gasunie, TenneT, the Dutch Association for Sustainable Energy (NVDE), and the National Climate Platform (NKP). The dashboard provides insights and up-to-date data on energy generation, consumption, and CO2emissions and is a useful tool for the energy transition.
Importance for energy transition
The launch of it National Energy Dashboard is an important step towards a more sustainable energy future, because data plays a key role in smarter energy management. By flexibly utilizing the supply of solar and wind energy, consumers and businesses can save costs and reduce the strain on the electricity grid. And if energy is consumed when the sun is shining or the wind is blowing, we avoid unnecessary investments.
Free energy data for everyone
Ned.nl is a further development of the existing websites Energy Generation, CO2 Monitor and the Energy Weather Report. Historical, current, and predictive energy data can be downloaded and accessed via an API key. This makes Ned.nl freely accessible to everyone.
For example, energy suppliers can use the energy data to provide their customers with insight into their CO2-emissions. Data from ned.nl can also be used to support decisions for a future-proof energy supply. RTL 4 en Weatheronline are already actively using the data for their weekly energy weather report.
