This roadmap provides insight into the steps that Noord-Nederland will move towards a responsive labor market for green hydrogen.
As the first European Hydrogen Valley, Noord-Nederland Major steps have been taken in recent years towards the rollout of a hydrogen ecosystem. To accelerate chain development, closer collaboration is needed, facilities need to be further integrated, and employers, employees, and knowledge and educational institutions need to collaborate on innovative ways to develop competencies. This roadmap provides insight into the steps that Noord-Nederland together with GroenvermogenNL, we will be working towards a responsive labour market for green hydrogen.

    • Implementation of Waterstof Werkt, with the aim of training 2.000 professionals by 2027.
    • Development of regional learning communities and hydrogen training centers.
    • Stronger collaboration between vocational education (MBO), higher professional education (HBO), university education (WO) and the business community for practice-oriented education.

Policy recommendations and investments

    • Flexible training and a Lifelong Development (LLD)-program for technicians and career changers.
    • Expansion of testing and research facilities such as Hydrogen Valley Campus Europe (HVCE).
    • Integration of hydrogen technologies into national and international energy networks.

As a project manager, I leverage my years of experience as a consultant and outsourcing partner in the field of training and development. My expertise lies in designing and implementing educational programs that meet the needs of the labor market. New Energy Coalition I am responsible for the human capital program Waterstof Werkt: H2 Train and Learn Hub, where I'm working on a continuous learning pathway (from primary education to post-primary education) for hydrogen that can be implemented in the short term in collaboration with the education sector. My focus is on strengthening professional skills and accelerating the energy transition through targeted training and knowledge development in hydrogen.
