Enjoy the New Energy Forum 2023
The third edition of the New Energy Forum, the event for (future) energy and mobility professionals, took place on Thursday, June 22, 2023. No fewer than 1375 visitors attended the event to learn about groundbreaking initiatives in the energy and mobility transition.
Breaking Barriers
A packed programme was organised around the theme of "Breaking Barriers," featuring inspiring speakers, topical discussions, demonstrations, games, and presentations. Keynote speakers included Kees Vendrik (chair of the National Climate Platform), Jessica den Outer (UN expert on nature rights), Dr. Reint Jan Renes (behavioral scientist and Lecturer in Psychology for a Sustainable City at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences), and Florian Dirkse (co-founder of The Ocean Cleanup). Other interesting components included the presentation by Mildred Hofkes (founder of NieuwBestuur and owner of the research agency BHRM Stakeholder Management & Research) on governance change, the presentation of the EnTranCe Awards, and the certificate ceremony at our New Energy Academy, where approximately fifty students received their energy certificates.
See and experience
Besides the areas where visitors could listen or participate in discussions, there was plenty to see and do during the ongoing demonstrations, such as the world's first hydrogen-powered GPU from Groningen Airport Eelde, which was recently launched, the world's first electric asphalt paver from BAM Infra NL, and the newest solar car from the Top Dutch Solar Race Team. There were innovative demonstrations by regional vocational colleges, visitors could play "serious games," or check out the hydrogen plaza to see the latest innovations.
