Lustrum party: VIEN (Women in Energy) Noord-Nederland)
During the anniversary celebration of VIEN, attention will be paid to the access female entrepreneurs in Northern Netherlands have to capital. Who are these entrepreneurial women? What is their story? What can we learn? They will engage in dialogue with sustainable entrepreneurs and representatives of the financial sector in Northern Netherlands.
Financial Inclusion
"Make sure you're financially independent!" That's the message we've received from our mothers and mentors. To achieve this, women (and men) work hard, whether employed or self-employed. Only a small percentage of women truly choose entrepreneurship: developing a product or service in their own company with employees. That requires courage, leadership, and also funding. Money, that is.
VIEN
VIEN has 120 members. These are women working in the energy sector – businesses, education, and government. They represent over 80 organizations in Noord-Nederland.
Programme
Financial inclusion is receiving a lot of attention. The United Nations positions it as a driver of other development goals in the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, where it is included as a target in eight of the seventeen goals, including SDG 5 on achieving gender equality and women's economic empowerment; SDG 8 on promoting economic growth and employment; SDG 9 on supporting industry, innovation, and infrastructure; and SDG 10 on reducing inequality.
In addition to the substantive program, there is plenty of room for networking and partying! The guest list includes VIEN members and their guests, as well as politicians and administrators from Noord-Nederland.
