About New Energy Coalition

New Energy Coalition is a knowledge and network organization that accelerates the energy transition. We bring companies, governments, and knowledge institutions together to stimulate innovation and education. Within the Human Capital department, we do this through the New Energy Academy and the New Energy Business School. With a team of approximately 60 colleagues, we work daily on a more sustainable future from our office on the Zernike Campus in Groningen.

For the Human Capital Team, we are seeking a Project Assistant (0,6 FTE/24 hours) effective immediately.

About the New Energy Academy

This is the energetic job where you perform duties for the New Energy Academy, the platform about energy transition for students and young professionals around the world. During the academic year, we organize approximately 40 activities related to the energy transition. You will organize these activities together with the team.

The function

As a Learning Activities Project Officer, you develop the learning activities program together with the team and ensure its implementation and long-term further development. At the same time, you are closely involved in the practical organization: from preparing events to contacting participants and speakers. You are the first point of contact during activities and ensure a professional and welcoming process, including English-language introductions and guidance. In this role, you actively work on expanding and maintaining (inter)national networks, such as with lecturers, knowledge institutions, and partners from the energy sector. You collaborate closely with colleagues within the Business School and Research and Innovation teams and contribute to broader educational activities.

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Developing and coordinating the learning activities program
  • Organizing and executing physical and online events (incl. webinars)
  • Preparing and coordinating the practical implementation of activities
  • Maintaining contact with speakers, lecturers, and partners
  • Managing and further developing online learning platforms and content
  • Conducting analyses and evaluations to improve programs
  • Contribute to the promotion of activities

Job requirements

  • Graduate of a university of applied sciences or a research university, with an affinity for sustainability/energy.
  • Experience with project-based work and event organization
  • Affinity with (interdisciplinary) education and knowledge development
  • Strong organizational skills and able to maintain an overview under time pressure
  • Excellent communication skills in both Dutch and English
  • Experience presenting and speaking in front of groups is a plus.
  • Digitally skilled, with knowledge of Microsoft Office and online tools/platforms, among others.
  • Strong in collaboration and relationship management

What do we offer?

You will be employed at New Energy CoalitionThis concerns an employment contract for 1 year, with the option of extension. We offer a varied job in an informal working atmosphere, with development opportunities, good secondary employment conditions, and a competitive salary. The start date is as soon as possible. The position is classified as Administrative Officer A, scale 3; the total range of this scale is €2.743 to a maximum of €3.839 gross per month for a full-time appointment.

As a project manager, I'm responsible for organising all learning activities for the New Energy Academy. This role perfectly combines my master's degree in Strategic Innovation Management and my interests in sustainability, innovation, societal issues, and project management. Through lectures, excursions, and events from various perspectives, I hope to inspire students and young professionals to pursue a career in the energy sector. New Energy Coalition I am part of the organisational team of the annual Wind meets Gas symposium and work on the project Waterstof Werkt: H2 Train and Learn Hub. In addition, I am committed to the employees of New Energy Coalition via the works council.
