Noord-Nederland sends letter to the House of Representatives regarding energy agreements made
Building on agreements made: Noord-Nederland as the energy hub of the Netherlands.
Noord-Nederland would like to continue building on the agreements made, based on the premise that Noord-Nederland serves as the energy hub of the Netherlands. In the past, the region was responsible for a significant part of the Dutch energy supply through natural gas; today, with Eemshaven, LNG, and energy infrastructure, this is still the case, and the region intends to continue committing to this in the future. In recent years, a long-term vision for this has been jointly drawn up by the central government and the region, and corresponding agreements have been made. However, recent discussions regarding offshore wind, the tunnel connection, and nuclear energy are now casting doubt on this vision and these agreements. Noord-Nederland calls for consistent policy and the honoring of agreements made. On behalf of collaborating companies, knowledge institutions, and governments in Noord-Nederland A letter was therefore sent regarding the energy agreements made and the urgent request to honor these agreements.
