Energy Transition in North Holland – Review Q2 2026

In this review of the second quarter of 2026, we show how collaboration, innovation, and knowledge development contribute to a future-proof energy system.

During the Energy Café North Holland, the Noordkop was positioned as an emerging energy hub, with a focus on energy autonomy, offshore wind, wave energy, and smart energy hubs as solutions for grid congestion.

In addition, regional partners collaborated on three RegioDeal applications. These focus on:

  • strengthening and making business parks more sustainable through energy hubs, field labs, and innovative solutions for grid congestion;
  • the Living Lab Sustainable Heiloo Citizen Participation, in which residents, businesses, and governments collaborate on local energy communities;
  • Samen Sterk, aimed at better utilizing the regional innovation potential and strengthening cooperation between business, education, and government.

Furthermore, the H2 Platteland project officially launched, aimed at the development of a regional green hydrogen ecosystem, and the exploration has started for the sustainability upgrade of IJsbaan De Westfries.
