NEBS gives hydrogen masterclass to Olympic champions

Yesterday, New Energy Business School gave a masterclass on hydrogen to Dutch Olympic champions Kiran Badloe and Marit Bouwmeester. Our business school and the MissieH2-platform joined forces to teach MissieH2024's supporters all about hydrogen in the lead-up to the 2 Summer Olympics and Paralympics. As part of this initiative, New Energy Business School is giving masterclasses on hydrogen to the Olympic water sports athletes who are ambassadors of MissieH2.

Other masterclasses

Earlier this year in May, Olympic swimming champion Ranomi Kromowidjojo received her first masterclass at Gasunie in Groningen. New Energy Coalition colleague Jochem Durenkamp taught her everything about hydrogen, after which she was able to map the hydrogen value chain Noord-Nederland via our Virtual Reality Hydrogen Valley Tour, and subsequently, along with colleague and hydrogen expert Patrick Cnubben, visited Groningen Seaports and HyStock Hydrogen Storage to explore this value chain. Yesterday, it was the turn of surfer and foiler Kiran Badloe and sailor Marit Bouwmeester. They attended a masterclass at Shell in The Hague, led by Jochem Durenkamp and Senior Expert Bert Stuij, where they were updated on hydrogen, the necessity of the energy transition, and its role in this transition. The theory was then visualized using our Virtual Reality Hydrogen Valley Tour.

About MissieH2

Together with the government and a large number of Dutch companies, a fully functioning hydrogen market in 2030, that is what MissionH2 wants to ratify this during the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Summer Games. Companies and governments must work together to ensure sufficient signed investment decisions by the summer of 2024 to generate sufficient capacity from green hydrogen by 2030. Therefore, Gasunie, Shell Nederland, Remeha, Toyota, Port of Amsterdam, Groningen Seaports, Vopak, Eneco, and TeamNL are taking the lead in building the Dutch hydrogen economy, and we are helping to disseminate hydrogen knowledge so that there are enough specialists to carry out the work by 2030.
