Green hydrogen factory in Den Helder
Subsidy of 13 million euros for the construction of a green hydrogen factory in Den Helder, part of the ZepHYros project. A step forward in the energy transition in the Northern Energy Region, the 'hydrogen valley' of the Netherlands.
With a 13 million euros of government grant, Den Helder is taking a major step in green hydrogen. The city is getting a 5-megawatt hydrogen plant near the port, intended for shipping, transport, and local applications. The electrolyzer, powered by wind energy, is scheduled to start operating in late 2027 and will reduce the burden on the energy grid. The project will eventually expand to a 150-megawatt plant.
The green hydrogen factory is part of the ZepHYros project, a project where New Energy Coalition has contributed to. The factory is a valuable addition to the Hydrogen Valley.
