Investa starts at a new location
Construction has officially begun on InVesta's new business location at the Energy Innovation Park in the city of Alkmaar. The newbuild on Diamantweg will soon provide venues for pilot and demonstration projects in the fields of green gas, hydrogen, and other sustainable energy carriers. The building will include offices, meeting rooms, a lab, and workshops.
Green Deal Subsidy
In 2018, a Green Deal was signed with the national government, the province of North Holland, and the municipality of Alkmaar. The subsidy awarded will be partially used for the construction of the new InVesta building.
The program Energy Innovation Park is located on the site of energy producer TAQA. Alexander Zandbergen, project manager at InVesta: “At our new location, we have opportunities to connect our building to the existing gas and heating networks. We'll also be much closer to the NXT gas station, which will sell sustainable fuels like hydrogen. With over 8.000 square meters of building land, we have ample space to fully customize the new location.”
Growing
The building on Diamantweg will be sustainably constructed and will have an innovative look. Students from Inholland and local businesses will be involved in the design of the installations. They will explore the best mix of available energy sources, such as the local heating network, some of the 20.000 solar panels in Boekelermeer, hydrogen produced by the residents, and green gas. The design will be carried out by BRT Architects from Alkmaar in consultation with contractor Tervoort from Egmond aan den Hoef.
Peter Simões, director of InVesta: “I'm pleased that construction can finally begin. Now that the first projects are underway, we can truly begin developing InVesta as a knowledge and expertise center. Our building will soon host demonstrations to accelerate developments in gasification technologies like green gas and hydrogen. This is precisely what InVesta was founded for.”
InVesta is currently in advanced discussions with several companies and organizations that want to demonstrate their technologies or conduct research at InVesta.
New Energy Coalition is one of the founding fathers of InVesta, and we also held a board position on the foundation's board until October 1, 2020.
