€30 million subsidy for green gas factory in Delfzijl
The development of sustainable energy in Noord-Nederland is receiving a significant boost. EemsGas, a joint venture of our Strategic Partner Gasunie and Perpetual Next are receiving a €30 million subsidy for the construction of a green gas plant at Chemiepark Delfzijl. The facility will produce approximately 18 million cubic meters of green gas annually from residual wood.
The green gas plant makes a significant contribution to the regional energy transition. Innovative technology converts residual wood into green gas that is fed into the existing gas grid. This not only reduces CO2 emissions but also creates new sustainable energy production and economic activity in the Eemsdelta region. Gasunie is involved in the development as a founding partner and will be responsible for the distribution of the green gas.
This project strengthens Noord-Nederland its position as a testing ground for sustainable energy and circular innovations.
